This jelly-thin machine hits surprisingly hard
Byr on the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and screen frame of just 5 millimeters.

Gigabyte launched a brand new game carrier a few days ago, striving to gain market share among those who are both playful and concerned with portability and design. Greetings on new Gigabyte Aero 15.

This is a game carrier that seems to be quite direct against existing competitors, such as Razers Blade Pro, who impressed with juicy food in a delicious and thin shell.

It has also been inspired heavily by Dell's new XPS models, the latter calling "Infinity Edge". Gigabyte may not have a fancy name on its screen, but to call a spade for a spade: here the frame around the screen is extremely extremely thin. Specifically 5 millimeters thick.

This makes room for what is described as a "15.6-inch panel in a 14-inch chassis ...". Or in other words: more display in smaller packaging. At the bottom, in the known style there is more frame, and furthermore an upside-facing front camera.

Heavy specifications

Of course, the specifications have a lot to say in such a machine, and here we talk about relatively cool things:

Display: 15.6 inches, 1080p / 4K UHD (3,840 x 2 160 pixels), IPS LCD
Processor: Intel Core i7-7700HQ
Memory (RAM): 8/16 GB
Storage: 2 x M.2 SSD slots, storage varies by region
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB)
Battery: 94.24 kWh
Dimensions: 356.4 x 250 x 19.9 millimeters
Weight: 2.1 kg
Webcam: HD, 1 280 x 720 pixels
Software: Windows 10 / Windows 10 Pro

The screen will therefore be available with both "normal" 1 920 x 1,080 full-HD resolution and 4K resolution for the more demanding. The screen should also be very well calibrated, with the Gigabyte calling X-Rite Pantone certification. According to the company, the screen should "... reproduce the best colors possible ...". Just that may need to be taken with a small pinch of salt.

Something we do not need to bring a pinch of salt is the performance that is promised. Here's the newest and most powerful i7 processor from Intel, along with a GeForce 1060 graphics card from NVIDIA. This promises very well for performance, especially considering that the card is only available in 6GB version.

Tons of entrances

Another relatively important feature of the machine is that it offers a wide variety of connectivity options - a luxury at a time often referred to with only one or two inputs (yes, we think of you, Apple!).

Here you will get no less than 10 inputs, the power connector recognized. Thus, we are talking about 9 fully functional and usable ports to plug in whatever you want. Among these we find three standard USB 3.0 inputs, one USB Type C 3.1 input, one SD card reader, one mini display port 1.3 Input, one HDMI 2.0 input, network port and mini jack input.

The USB Type-C connector also serves as a Thunderbolt 3 input, and will thus display image on external displays. Up to four screens, according to Gigabyte - two in 4K via Mini Display Port and HDMI inputs, and two in up to 5K resolution thanks to Thunderbolt 3.

Gigabyte also raises what they think is a very compact charger, weighing 475 grams in a 16.6 x 6.4 x 2.2 centimeter package. This also has a USB port for quick charging of, for example, mobile phones. Smart!

Another smart detail is a battery indicator next to the touch pad, which means that without turning the machine on, it will be possible to confirm the remaining battery.

By the way, the machine also has LED-backlit keyboard in all the colors of the rainbow, and the machine itself comes in three colors: black, green and orange.

The price is said to be from approx. 2000 dollars and upwards. Availability for this country is currently not known.
